Cheap, versatile, easy to use and store, a hand blender can save a lot of time in the kitchen. It’s great for puréeing baby food, blending soups, chopping herbs, chillies and garlic, and making refreshing lassis and tasty smoothies. If you want to pureé soup, for example, you can blend it in a saucepan rather than tipping hot liquid into a full-size electric blender jug. Because they are much smaller and simpler than full-size blenders, they’re also easier to clean and store, and cheaper to buy.
