Dust compressor
LG has just launched its Compressor Plus cylinder vacuum cleaners.
The vacuums use LG’s unique dust compression technology – a paddle inside the dust container gently compresses dust and dirt into little blocks. We’ve tried the Compressor Plus All-in-one VK9820UHR on a few floors, and our first impressions are fairly good. LG claims the new cleaners are smaller, but the capacity of the dust container is larger, so you can pick up more dust with less frequent emptying.
A new turbo cyclone system is supposed to gather dust into a single chamber before filtering, which should lead to less clogging uand better suction. This works alongside its new 10-stage Hepa – high efficiency particulate air – filtration system, approved by the British Allergy Foundation. LG says this will screen allergens, odours and micro-dust. At full power, the suction seems impressive. Emptying the vacuum was simple, with most of the dust and dirt packed into removable blocks, and its cleaning attachments are accessible and easy to use. The VK9820UHR is priced at approximately Rs10,900.
Verdict: Compacted dust is easier to empty, and Hepa filters can be handy if someone in your family is allergic to dust.
