Fight vitamin deficiencies
What you should eat, and what you must avoid, to ensure that your body gets its required dose of vitamins
1. Stop smoking
The University of Maryland Medical Center’s website says that smoking can hinder the body’s ability to absorb vitamin C. Vitamin C deficiency can lead to scurvy, which weakens blood vessels.
2. Avoid stress
Zainab NG, nutritionist with Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, says, ‘Stress and a sedentary lifestyle have a detrimental impact on the effective absorption of vitamins. So live a stress-free life and exercise frequently to build a strong immune system.’
