Phones under Rs.5,000
If you’re looking for a budget handset, here are some of the latest models. We haven’t put these phones through our full lab tests yet, but here are our first impressions of them
NOKIA X2-01
Rs. 3,370
Weight 107.5g
Display 2.4 inches
Bluetooth Yes
Internet Yes
FM/Music player Yes
Camera VGA, 640×480 pixels
Memory 55MB, expandable
Battery 4 hours 30 minutes (talktime), 480 hours (standby)
The Nokia X2-01 is aimed at a younger crowd who, in Nokia’s mind, spend much of their time on Facebook and Twitter. Nokia’s ‘Communities’ app integrates Facebook into the phone’s operating system, letting you view status updates directly from the homescreen and post your own updates and photos.
The phone comes with a Qwerty keyboard and 2.4-inch screen. But you only get the slower GPRS and EDGE internet connections. This might be OK to view the odd Facebook update, but it will make downloading and uploading pictures to social networks a chore.
Pros Social media apps
Cons No 3G, Wi-Fi
