You can check interest rates and grace periods on credit cards yourself, but how do you know which banks offer the best (and worst) after-sales service? Our 10-city survey reveals all
Credit cards have become as acceptable as cash with most urban retailers in India, and this reflects the rapid growth in their use.
Credit card companies have been actively soliciting potential customers, often quite aggressively, and it isn’t difficult to get one. But has customer service kept pace with increasing penetration and choice?
To find out, we conducted a survey (see ‘Our survey’, above) to see how satisfied customers were with their credit card company. More than eight respondents in 10 had been using their credit card for at least a year.
Overall, we found that most people had a single credit card, though this number was a little higher in some cities. Credit card users were very loyal to their companies – most respondents in our survey had never switched cards.
