An increasing number of Indians are choosing the air-conditioned comfort and convenience of the closest supermarket or hypermarket over smaller stores and bazaars.
A supermarket is a one-stop shop for all your groceries, while a hypermarket is the go-to place if you want not just groceries but also kitchen appliances, home electronics, furnishings and accessories. For this report, we interviewed over 3,000 people from 10 cities to find out why for shoppers supermarkets/hypermarkets are growing in popularity, what people like – and dislike – most about them, and, of course, which ones score the best on customer satisfaction.
