1. E102

E102 or Tartrazine is a synthetic yellow dye often added to foods such as fizzy drinks, cake mixes and jellies. It is also used in the production of shells of medicinal capsules.  There have been attempts in several countries in Europe to ban its use. It’s said to cause allergic reactions among asthmatics as well as those who are aspirin-intolerant. It can also cause migraine, itching, hives, nasal congestion, blurred vision, nausea, indigestion, vomiting and is suspected to cause hyperactivity in children.
